Poor Ridge, can not catch a break!
Sorry, but just to warn you this is a negative post. I'm exhausted and am tired of dealing with a sick baby. I just wish this RSV thing would GO AWAY! I don't know how mothers do it with chronic sick babies. I have come to find certain things about Ridge and his personality in all this sickness. One, he's a very sensitive little guy. He does NOT like to be touched. He hated the doctor looking in his ears today, or taking his tempertature. Reed on the other hand loves it. He's so calm and will just lay his head to the side and let the doc do his thing. Not Ridge, he fights it and grunts and acts like, "get away from me!" He gets upset and cries if Reed or anyone touches him slightly rough. Two, he just wants to be loved and cuddled going through all this pain. This is all the medicines and treatments I currently have to deal with. I have to suction his nose with the saline solution and bulb every time before he eats and goes to bed-which he HATES! I have to change his dressing and put burn cream on his foot 3-4 times a day. (I've only been doing that twice a day...I forget). The burn is healing rather nicely though! And now, since none of the other albuterol forms of treatment have worked and he's still congested and coughing, we have to give it to him through "the chamber". It's an astma inhaler that puffs the medicine into the tube and then I put the mask over his face for him to breathe it in for 30-45 seconds. I need to do this 4 times a day. We just started this tonight-NOT a great experience...He freaked out! He hates me touching him, holding him down and putting things up/on his nose. Poor baby- I hate to do all this, but it's necessary. I just hope this last resort works. So far it's cost us $400 + but it's all worth it for my baby. Oh, and he has an ingrown fingernail too. So tonight, I cut it, filed it and soaked his finger in dishwasher soap-doctor's orders. Let's see if this Pediatrician here in Poway knows what he's talking about...so far, I do not like the guy...
