Living it up in So Cal

So I've officially been in California for two weeks now.  It's been a LONG two weeks.  But I've been enjoying it.  My days are so busy that you think the time would fly...but no.  Busy as in -make breakfast, change diapers, feed baby bottles, get them dressed, make lunch, play at the park, nap time for Reed while  Ridge stays awake...,make dinner, do dishes, do laundry, etc. etc. etc.  Whew-it's exhausting being a mom of two and a somewhat, single mom at that...August is always working and only has time for us on the weekends most of the time.  So now, I look forward to Saturdays!  In Arizona, I hated Saturdays...there was nothing to do, it was hot and it was always a boring day.  But here in San Diego, there is ALWAYS something to do-even if it's just driving and observing the scenery.  Last Friday, August took the day off and we went to the beach!  We went to Del Mar where they had a playground right by the coast (BEAUTIFUL!).  We let play Reed play for a while and I did a little shopping and got me some Red Toms for $20!  Score!  Reed also wanted to go into the water...Well, I wasn't planned to get in being that it's January and we didn't have swimsuits on.  But we got our feet wet-then a huge wave took us down and Reed was socked head to toe!  Sand covered his head.  It scared him at first-he actually made a little cry out like, "wo,wo wo!"  It was so cute and funny at the time, but then if you think about it, was really dumb and scary on my part.  I should have been more responsible-he could have drowned and been swept away!  he news has been talking about record surfs and high tides.  The waves were huge!  My brother Bryce would love it here... he's a total surfer.  The water was actually warmer than I thought it would be as well-way warmer than it has ever been in Newport in June...Then Saturday we went to my cousin Tempestt's husband Brandon's birthday party at an indoor/outdoor soccer game in El Cajon.  I like that she only lives 30 min. away!  She made the cutest little soccer cupcakes.  Then we took a drive over to Coronado Island and ate in La Jolla at Freds's Mexican Grill...yum!

Oh, and I've become the little homemaker since I've been here- I actually cook breakfast, lunch and dinner every weekday and Sunday!  I've been trying out new recipes (such as the picture of my homemade buttermilk syrup).  Love it!

I sure do miss my family at home and all my friends!!!
