All About August

Ok, I know this is all out of order but I just wanted to devote a post specifically for August. I am so proud for his accomplishments lately and I just wanted to publicly congratulate him. As you all know, he just graduated from University of Phoenix with his Bachelor of Science in Management. It took him several years, and several colleges (CGCC, UVSC, ASU and U of P) to get there, but he DID IT! He is done!
August has recently started riding again. Dirt bike and cycling. He says it will get him back in shape. He's gotta keep up with his son that's on his way. :) Ask him about his recent cycling crash off the cliff, landing in a pokey tree off South Mountain...ha ha.
Here he is in the background #54
Another thing he has gotten into lately that I am so proud of him for trying, is Church Men's Softball. August has never played softball- tee ball/baseball maybe in like 4th grade. But other than that, nada. A couple weeks ago, we went out with the ward to Barney Park to play. August agreed after Bro. Crockett asked to come participate. That morning he says, "Ok Melissa- I'm going to play softball." He was telling me this wearing jeans and his DVS shoes...I just shook my head and said..."no, no, no, we are stopping and buying you some wind-breaker type pants and glove and tennis shoes. You are going to be made fun of and look so goofy if you go out there in jeans!" Lol. So I made him all "softballfied" and we were off. I played catch with him for a little bit before the game. I know- I need to be careful. I thought he would throw a ball and hit my belly- luckily that never happened, it just popped up and hit my chin instead. Go figure. I miss softball SO much. August was catcher for the day. I was his coach- teaching him where he needed to be, who to throw the ball to and what not. What can I say- I was the only wife out there supporting my boy. August did pretty well for his first time, minus the one fall he had running to home base. Check out the video below for a good laugh!!! Oh and one more thing I'm proud of him for accepting- his new Church calling of Elder's Chorum Secretary! This will make him more involved with the Elder's and help his Testimony grow, I believe. I'm so proud of him for trying new things.
August- I LOVE YOU!

And last but not least, I couldn't pass up my most recent belly pic with one of my best friend's Lara. (Even though I know this post is all about August) Our babies are the exact same age. They might be bf/gf you never know... ;) We are just shy of 24 weeks tomorrow. Awesome! June is just around the corner- in my eyes at least.
