4th of July 2012-Parade at Scripps Ranch

So, Fourth of July this year in California was a cloudy, chilly day.  Not something us Native Arizonans  are used to.  The parade in Scripps Ranch was lame.  Not like good ol' Springervilles.  I was kind of bummed, but the boys are still too young to care.  It was just boring watching all the city councilmen and locals drive their cars in the parade.  No candy was thrown, no music was playing.  The only time Reed got excited was when the Ronald McDonald truck rolled by.  And I don't even think he knows who Ronald McDonald is...haha! My boys were sure cute though in their last minute Walmart special 4th of July t-shirts.  That afternoon we drove up to Ramona (about 20 min NE of Poway) to hang out with some new friends of ours (DJ and Stephanie Moss).  They were having a swim/bbq.  The boys got to swim in the kiddie pool for a while and then we headed to Carlsbad for the night to meet Tempestt and her family at a campsite on the beach.  We ate dinner with them, chatted for a while and then drove home just in time to see all the firework displays throughout San Diego going up in the sky every turn of your head.  Loved it.  We came down the hill into Poway just as the finale was going off.  Perfect-didn't have to stop and wait for traffic, we just saw the show from the car.  Reed loved having the windows down and pointing to all the fireworks, "There it is!"
