Better late than never...Post overload...

Reed with his cousins on the Smith side (Annie, Rigley and Emett)

Here's a shot of Reed opening his first Easter basket.  He wasn't quite sure what to think, but he loved that the Easter bunny brought him a cool new toy that lights up!  The bubble gum's for mommy!

 Elder Smith!

This post is REALLY long and full of pictures that I just had on my phone and haven't updated onto the blog in a while...so here it goes...

Mother's Day yesterday was great.  I ate WAY too much, to say the least...August surprised me with a new vacuum...a Dyson! It's awesome.  The first five minutes of him getting it out of the box, I was already using it to vacuum all the disgusting caked on dirt on my shutters that I haven't cleaned in the four years we've lived here.  (I can't believe this clean freak just admitted that...)  Ha, anyways, so my house is somewhat dust free,  for now.  He's such a sweet husband.  I love him.  The day before, we had gone out to Glendale for the Kentucky Derby Day at Turf Paradise.  We watched my uncle's horse race and it won!!!  It's name was "Tonight at 11."  It was a fun day but WAY TOO HOT!  I think it hit 100`.  We were miserable standing outside.  So we went to the top of the stands where there was some shade and unfortunately we didn't make it back down in time to take the winning picture with the horse and the jockey... sad!  We tried to hurry!  But only Renee and Nicki made it for the picture.  That night we went back to Kara and Jon's.  We went out to dinner and watched the last Supercross Race of the season (Chad Reed won the race-Villopoto won the entire season).  We didn't get home from Glendale til midnight, and with 8 o'clock church, we all slept in and I didn't make it to church on Mother's Day.  That's ok though.  I'm in Young Women's and the YW were in charge of "serving" the food to all the mothers, so I would have just had to work if I had went...haha.  So I stayed home.  August made me breakfast, I made a layered pudding dessert and we headed out to my mom's to talk to Bryce from Mexico!

Bryce actually skyped (video chat) with us from Mexico- he's in Aqua Calliente.  He looked and sounded so good.  I loved that he said he washes and keeps his badge clean, unlike the Mexican's badges that are filthy and brown.  He's doing great and his spanish is awesome.  He's already fluent and he's only been gone 5 months!  I miss him!  I can't believe the next time we get to talk to him (Christmas Day), I'll have another baby in the house! Crazy...
Then we had dinner/party at Grandpa/ma Evans.

Tonight we went to Backyard Tacos fundraiser out at Freeman Farms Park and ate some yummy food and let Reed go down the slide and play in the rocks.  He was in heaven!  He LOVES playing in the rocks.  His knees are callused and hard now from crawling in the rocks so much.  He could care less for grass.  Funny kid.  He is starting to cruise alot more and walk 6-7 steps at a time now.  He is so close to walking.  I know I said that a while ago, but everyday he keeps getting better.  He says a few words now!  "Mom, Dad, Granga (grandpa), Baah (bath), No, baalul (bottle), dog and dada."  He always fake laughs and breaths heavy (that sounds like he has asthma or he's Darth Vador or something...).  He also has this ear piercing scream right now that he does ALL the time when he's playing.  It's SO LOUD.  Drives me nuts.   At 11 months, he still only has two teeth (the bottom fronts).  And he loves to swim and play outside. He can roll his tongue upside down-back and forth- he always has his tongue out and will even play a game with you and stick it in and out.  (nanner nanner...)  He always waves when he comes into a room or when he we say bye bye.

As for me, I'll be 9 weeks this Wednesday and the migraines and nautiousness has just kicked in big time.  I hate it.  I want the first trimester to whizz on by so that I can feel better, and just be fat.  Ha.

Oh- I've been working on sewing some curtains for my house and the other night I sewed my FINGER! OUch! It hurt SO bad.  The needle went straight through my left index finger right next to the nail.  I have a hole on the top and bottom.  I freaked out and August came running to pull the needle up and out.    But, the needle actually broke in half and we were afraid it was stuck in my finger!  We almost went to Urgent Care because I wanted it out!  After I calmed down, we realized it was not in my finger and we found it rattling inside the machine.  Thank goodness.  So ya, I'm a little scared to sew again, but I have to finish my curtains and I'm attempting to make superhero capes for Reed's 1st birthday party coming up for all the kids.  Wish me luck!

As for August, he's working hard on his new iPhone application/game and getting ready for the convention in California we'll be going to in June!  You can tell Reed is a major climber and is ALWAYS into something!  Sorry this post was all over the place!
