Alpine 2011! Where's the snow? No water?

 Can you spot the elk?

So we went to Alpine this last weekend in hopes to sled and make snow angels.  We get there Friday night and NOTHING- no snow...but maybe a couple lousy patches near the cabin.  And of course, the only patch on the road maybe 5 ft long-we get stuck in! Ha, poor TRD.  Our truck is only 2 wheel drive and the boys had to push our way out of the little patch.  Fun times.  We settle in only to find out the cabin pipes all froze and broke and that we have no running water.  Great-long trip means we all have to go to the bathroom.  Guess it's pop a squat outside for the entire weekend...lol.  Let's just say we had a lot of droppings around the place, and not just by the animals.  Funny stories but kind of too gross um to tell on here... haha.  Saturday still no snow, but we played volleyball and went to the candy store (The Lollipop Shop).  I took a few (hundreds...) pictures of Reed in the patches of snow I could find.  We played board games with the cousins and watched movies.  Sunday morning we woke up to SNOW!!! Yey! Only that it was more like a blizzard out for a while and by the time we went out to take more pics, August was ready to go home.  I was hoping to stay longer to sled or do something-I mean come on-it's Reed's first time in the snow!  Haha-he didn't like it too much.  Only because I think he didn't like wearing the big snow suits and being all bundled up! He's a busy body and he couldn't move very well in the suits.  So we left for home about noon because we were tired of not having water and we really wanted a warm shower!  Reed did really good there! Of course he was crawling everywhere and getting into stuff (I forgot to bring a walker or something to keep him contained in).  He loved all the attention from the big boys and enjoyed Scarlett too.  I caught him the other day trying to stand up! He crawls, stops, puts his hands down, sticks his butt up in the air and tries to stand.  He's going to be 9 months in less than a week.  I wouldn't be surprised if he's walking before he turns 1!

Nice action shots of the game. I know the trip was a little rough but still fun. Hopefully next time around it won't be so crazy.
