Little Monster is Crawling!!!
The little turkey is officially crawling as of yesterday (Jan 10, 2010)! 7 months old and up on his hands and knees. He's fast, watch out! If I leave the room, next thing you know he's following right behind me. He is fearless too. I can no longer keep him in his bouncer chair without being buckled in. He knows how to crawl or flip out if it (front flip). He is a crazy one. If I have him on the couch or bed or anything he just wants to dive right off. I have to WATCH him at ALL TIMES now.
Jan. 3, 2011 Reed got his first cold- not bad, mostly just a stuffy, then runny nose. That was the only symptom. Maybe the runny nose thing is just from teething and it wasn't a cold at all...who knows. But his teeth have been bothering him BAD lately. Although, they haven't popped up yet. I can feel two ridges on the bottom gums. Nothings exposed as of now. I give him baby Tylenol and Oragel to numb the pain.
He has NOT been sleeping through the night ever since he turned 6 months (for a month now). And it drives me nuts! I'm so exhausted. I have been helping my parents move (disaster!!!) the past two weeks and with Reed waking up at least 4 times a night, I'm so tired. My back hurts all the time from moving and lifting that I just need a break. I can't wait until their move is over, but then again it's sad to see everyone leave and the houses get torn down. Little by little things (gates, lamp posts, etc) are getting taken down and sold in the Evans Way Compound and our house is starting to be very empty. It's such a trash mess since we don't have to clean up (because it's being bull dozed) and we just leave the trash or what we don't want on the floor. It's so weird to see the house like this...
Anyways, back to Reed- he has not been sleeping I think because of teething. He has started to sit or stand up on the railing now and falls and hits his head (hard) on the sides of the crib. I can't let him cry himself to sleep because it only makes him more mad and he hits his head more. The other night I waited 20 min. before I heard a loud crash! I ran in there to check on him and he was standing and fell backwards and hit his head again! Ugh...He scares me that he tries to climb out of his crib already! That's a long fall if he does make it out and I'm afraid he'll break his neck! Ugh...so I can't let him cry it out- I usually just try to rock him back to sleep (bad habit- I know) or just give up and bring him to bed with me (another bad habit!)...What to do, what to do. I love him at this age, but it is definitely getting more difficult having to pay attention to every move!
He is so fun right now though. He can say "MOM!" (He usually screams it if I'm in the other room). He squeals at people or coughs to get their attention. He giggles and laughs when I tickle under his chin or lightly scratch his back. He smiles alot more at everyone. He loves to chew on corners of books. He likes toys that spin or have lights. He's a happy little boy!

I can't believe Reed is crawling!!! Thats so exciting... I am jealous and not all at the same time! ha! I wish Braxton would crawl already but then I would have to chase after him! I can't believe how big he's gotten. I still need to meet this little guy. Good luck with getting him to sleep through the night. Braxton went through a phase of waking up 3-4 times a night..it was rough. So I feel for you! Hopeully he will get over it soon!
Man he is growing so fast I feel like you just had him! He is a cutie though, hopefully his teeth will come in soon. Scarlett slept for 6 hrs straight this week but then went back to getting up every 3 hrs. Hopefully she picks it up again soon.
that was kara.
