Christmas Day! 2010 We had ourselves a Merry Little Christmas!

Wow- too many blog posts all at once! (And sorry, SO MANY PICTURES!!!) If you're still hanging with me, just bare with me a little longer...where do I even start? Christmas snuck up so fast that it seems I haven't had time to blog about milestones Reed has had lately.  Well, one thing is that he is ARMY CRAWLING!!!  Christmas morning he just jetted outta no where and is now a really fast scooter! I can't believe it.  I don't know if I should label it as a Christmas miracle or disaster?!?!  I think disaster...I'm going to have my hands full and have to keep a close eye on him from now on! He gets around the house so quick.  Crazy...He is 6 1/2 months now.  Weighs 18 lbs last time we checked.  His favorite color at the time is RED.  He loves to chew on red plastic cups.  That's his favorite teether I believe (besides Sophie the giraffe).  He loves apple juice and likes most all the baby foods I've given him.  The only one he doesn't finish is the green beans.  He still has 4 bottles a day and eats baby food once a day.  He takes 2-3 naps a day (about an hour each, if that).  He is starting to throw tantrums (little tiny fits) when you take something away from him or he doesn't get his way.  I know- he's only 6 months, but it's serious.  Arches the back and screams.  Crazy.  Anyway, to get him to quiet down or make him smile, we sing- "5 little monkeys swinging in a tree, teasing Mr. Alligator can't catch me...here comes Mr. Alligator sneaky as can be and SNAP that monkey right outta that tree!"  He LOVES that song.  He doesn't like when I sing "5 little monkeys and say roll over, roll over..."  He does the saddest little face and then lets out the saddest cry.  It's so weird how sensitive he is to some sounds.  Like if my mom yells for someone to come here he'll cry- I just don't think he likes loud noises.  He'll always smile if I squeeze his giraffe or any toy that squeaks.  We also call Reed "the claw" because he likes to go upside down and pick things up for us ;)
So Christmas was so much more fun this year having a kid! Reed loved most his toys, but by far his favorite was just the plain RED ball.  August surprised me this year with a gun! A Walther P22 - love it!  I can't wait to go up to the cabin in Alpine and shoot at the targets.  August spoiled himself and got 2 pistols!  So I guess you're wondering where we keep all these guns now huh- well, yep-we got a gun safe! On sale-we were lucky- those things are pricey! But I love it (Browning) and I'm glad we can lock up our stuff now and not just have it laying under the bed or in the corner so that Reed can get into...
GG got Reed an awesome Elmo airplane on wheels.  He got a lot of Elmo stuff too from my parents- he loves Elmo's World.  My parents got him a machine that pops up balls by air- he's not quite sure how it works yet...he'll soon learn to like it.  I didn't get any pictures of him opening gifts but I did get it all on video...
Giving mamma kisses

(Reed and August matching on Christmas Sunday- so mad I didn't get a family picture that day...I wore Red and grey).
 (awkward family pic-haha)
My Favorite gift to give this year was the book that I made and had printed for mine/August's parents and grandparents.  I was so excited and loved the way it turned out! I did "Twas the Night before (Reed's 1st) Christmas."  It was perfect! They all LOVED it.  I love all the pics of Reed in it too- he is such a handsome boy.  I dressed him as Santa and a reindeer.  All the pictures go with the story nicely. I wrote out the entire story and just changed a few words to (Reed or him).  Here are most from the book...

Oh and my parents are moving in like 2 weeks so August took a little photo shoot with Reed and I in my parents orchard with the chickens and on the hammock.  It was so nice out today- what a warm Christmas 72` or higher.  I went around with the video camera today and taped the whole Evans Way Compound (memories sake).  Sad day...
