Halloween is my FAVORITE Holiday. I love all the black and orange decor and dressing up and having parties. I love eating chili and cornbread and carving pumpkins. This year, we haven't carved a pumpkin...yet. I don't know if we will, but there is still 3 more days till Halloween is officially here. This is Reed's 1st Halloween and I wanted him to be something memorable. I didn't want to do the traditional baby pumpkin or ghost (I'll save the skeleton costume for next year). So I decided he would be something different and that no other kid/baby would be...so he is a SOCK MONKEY!!! Yes, just like his little stuffed sock monkey toy he has. He makes one cute monkey! I can't wait till he's old enough to go Trick-or-Treating (with his homemade bag I made him of course! Ha)!
Last week Reed and I met up with the Stowells for their Ward Halloween party. It was a blast! August decided to stay home and work on his iPhone app (that's a whole other story) so it was just Reed and I with Lara, Jon and their kids. They had carnival games, a bounce house, tons of food, a cake walk, a haunted house (in an actual barn) and a train/tractor ride. It reminded me of good old Weinberg carnival days! Except, my uncle's bumpy tractor ride was way better! Ha. Anyways, so Jon held both babies (Reed and Kendra) while Lara and I went into the haunted house. Lara was so scared to go in. We held hands and screamed the whole way through. Even though it was put on by the the young men, it was still pretty scary. But dangerous!!! They kept grabbing and pushing and I almost fell down the wooden stairs! They don't think about safety, just scaring you.
This weekend is our Ward's Trunk or Treat and yes- we're going, we are on the committee...so we have to. Out of our whole married life, we've never gone to a Ward Halloween party. But this year we are, and it will hopefully be fun. I personally like trick-or-treating in my cousin's neighborhood (Val Vista and Southern)- best one by the way...but we are getting too old for that.
I'm going as a cheetah cat, Reed as a Sock Monkey and August- a Redneck Swamp Guy. We are decorating our truck with cargo netting, fake alligator heads, snakes and fishing poles...people might not get it, but he's suppose to be a total redneck who fishes for alligators in the swamp. It's a show on History Channel called Swamp People. They are crazy guys. So I bought Aug a mullet wig and black out tooth stuff. Hopefully his costume will turn out like I imagine. Well, pictures to come after the party!
Info about Reed lately: He has been GROWING like crazy (as ALWAYS). His legs are starting to chunk out now and he just keeps getting taller. He learns something new every day! He is rolling over like crazy all the time now- across the room sometimes. He will even get up on his hands and knees and do the motion back and forth like he wants to crawl. I bet he'll be crawling by next week! He's getting close. He's to the point where when I take off his diaper, he instantly rolls to his side and onto his belly- diaper duty is a hassle- he doesn't want to sit still anymore! He grabs everything and everything goes straight to his mouth now. It's getting to the point where I can't keep him on my lap while eating. Last night he pulled my bowl of soup and spilt it into our laps! Ha. He laughs at silly noises or if we say "Boo!" He giggles when I take his shirt off. He's very ticklish on his ribs- what guy isn't! He smiles most when he wakes up or after he eats. He loves to "touch and feel" things. Blankets and sheets especially! I have a feeling he is going to be one of those kids with a blankie. But I won't let him take it in public! He rubs/pets his bumper (minkie material) every night when I put him in his crib. He sleeps through the night (has been for a while) but sometimes wakes up right after August goes to work (6:00 am) and wants his pacifier. Usually he'll go back to sleep. If he doesn't, I bring him in bed with me and he gets to snuggle with me and we sleep in till about 8-8:30 ish. The minute I bring him in my bed and hand him the sheets, he get's the biggest smile and just cuddles and wraps the sheets around his face. It is the cutest thing! He has also found his voice lately. He has a high pitched squeal he'll do every now and then. My brother thinks it sounds like one of those toys you squeeze and then they squeal when you let it go. He loves playing with his toes and pulls and bites his socks off. He has monkey toes and feet and he'll wrap his legs around my arm when I feed him lately. It's cute. He now drinks his whole bottle without burping till he's done. If I try to burp him halfway through, he throws a fit and cries. So I just keep going and he let's out a loud one once the bottles empty. He is so fun and is at the best age right now- I can't believe he's about 10 days shy of 5 months! Time flies when you're having fun! I love my little man!

You never e-mailed me the pics! lol. I'm just gonna steal them from your blog :)
The sock monkey is too cute! You look amazing too.
I can't believe all that Reed is doing, he sounds like he is 2 months older than Nolan! Nolan still hasn't rolled over once. :( I don't want to have to do physical therapy with him. He has a few more days to try and master it! I can't wait to see Reed again. It sounds like he has grown so much!
