I was so ready for a vacation being cooped up in the house for the past month since Reed was born. We were fortunate enough to get out of the heat and go up to the Goebel cabin for the weekend with our friends Jeff and Chelsea. I was expecting it to be a little cooler up there than it was, but it was still nice in the shade- and it beats 110` weather down here in the valley, so I can't complain. It was an eventful weekend of the parade, bowling, swap meet (just for the kettle corn of course!), Charlie's Steakhouse (YUM!) fireworks at the hanger, breakfast at Mama Bear's Restaurant (the best french toast ever!) pizza, walking the park, fishing, naps, ice cream and relaxation. I think that's it... Reed did so good while we were away. He is growing up so fast. He is already 4 weeks today. I can't believe he is a month already. Still skinny and long. Last time I checked he is up to 9 lbs now. He and Stratt (Chelsea's newborn) were perfect and well behaved on the trip for the most part. They were mostly on the same feeding schedule of every 3 hours which made it nice to get out and do stuff because we could feed at the same time and then plan our day together. Reed had fun at the parade- he loved the noises of the firetrucks that went by with the sirens. He loved the park strollin around in his stroller. August loves being a dad- I could tell he has fun pushing the stroller around and feeding him his bottle. At first we went to watch the fireworks at Show Low High School but it was packed and just loud and crazy, so we decided to watch the fireworks from the airport hanger instead. It was still a great view even though it was about 4 miles away. It was so peaceful and relaxing to bundle up with my baby and sit and watch the fireworks by ourselves. Overall it was a great weekend! Reed slept the entire way up and way home- he gets in his car seat and the minute we start driving he is out! All three hours!

Reed at the parade in Show Low - Happy 4th!

Rustin loved grabbing the candy they would throw to us.

Fireworks at the hanger.

I think Reed looks like he has a little bit of red in his hair...then sometimes it's totally blonde, and then sometimes looks light brown...who knows what it will turn out to be.

I love my little man!

He is such an old man- all he does is grunt and toot. It's so cute!

Little photo shoot, didn't turn out that well due to it being so hot in the sun.
