25 Miles!
SO, August, Nauni, JM, and Christopher and I all went cycling from our house to Las Sindas today and back! It was a hard, long, tiring ride but I made it! I felt so good today even though I was sore afterwards. I felt good cuz I know it's going to help me get into shape and get skinny again. I put on some weight and now I wanna get it off. (keeping the weight on is something I can't help though i just found out) I went to the OB Doc yesterday because I have been trying to get pregnant (for like 9 months now). I stopped birth control last April and haven't had a period yet (well on my own that is). I have to take Provera to make me start. Basically I am not ovulating and I was diagnosed with PCOS. After blood work my platelet count is really low. So what does this mean? I don't know. I didn't really ask questions. She wants me to see a hematologist to make sure everything is ok or what I can do to get my platelet count back up. Has anyone else gone through this? Let me know- I'm confused. All I know is that the PCOS thing is poly cystic ovarian syndrome- meaning I'm not ovulating, I'm gaining weight, I have cysts that are forming and are not allowing me to ovulate, and my male levels are high. lol- i'm turning into a dude...? Just kidding. But ya, so I proly won't get pregnant anytime soon. :( But you never know. Heavenly Father might surprise me and wha la- It will happen when it is suppose to. Till then, good night.

Hey Melissa,
PCOS is actually pretty common, both my older sister and younger sister have it (along with a lot of other people I know). My older sister had the weight gain problem, and she wasn't ovulating either. They were trying to get pregnant for quite a while. She didn't want to take any drugs or fertility unless she had to. She started taking this natural vitamin, and it's supposed to help you ovulate after 3-6 months. Well I guess it worked because she is now 14 weeks pregnant! I don't know a ton about PCOS but if you ever have questions I'm sure my sis would be more than willing to answer them.
Oh and great job on 25 miles, that's intense!
great job on the bike ride! That would make my legs so sore. I'm sorry to hear about you having PCOS. Just remember that Heavenly Father will bless you with the things that you need and that he watches over you.
Hey that stinks about the cysts but I've heard of a lot of women having similar things as well. I thought cysts were usually painful for women so maybe yours aren't the worst there are. But I really have no clue. Hopefully you can get things figured out soon. Way to go on the bike ride I would have died.
Hey! So sorry to hear about your fertility problems! I'm in the same boat! We have been trying since May of 07! I would reccomend going straight to a fertility specialist. The OBGYNS are just not as well educated or experanced in dealing with fertlity problems! Having PCOS does not mean you can't get pregnant it just means it MIGHT be a little harder and you MIGHT need some help. Just email me or something if you want to talk more about it. NOt that I knwo everthing but I've been dealing with it for a while so I might know a little more then you and I'd be more then happy to share waht I know! littlered527@yahoo.com
Um, I just saw you yesturday and you look tiny! You don't look like you have put weight on at all! But that is awesome that you rode 25 miles!! Exercise always makes me feel so good. I'm sorry about the PCOS, I don't know much about it, but it doesn't sound fun. Let me know if there is anything I can do.
Sorry to hear about the fertility problems. I'm sure things will get worked out soon and I'll keep you in my prayers. On a lighter note, I don't even know that last time I rode a bike so good for you! Keep us updated!
Melissa, just google it. I just did and I already learned so much in like 30 seconds of reading. You will be fine. Hey, only like 6 more weeks till we come visit. Save the last weekend in Feb for us. MISS YOU!!
Hey Melissa, it's Joy's sister Heather. I would love you to email me with your email address so I can tell you all about my situation if you are interested. We tried for over 2 years and I am now finally pregnant - and I did it all naturally. It really is a miracle! Anyway, my email is heatherdalene@gmail.com so please feel free to email me and I will give you all the info I can! Good luck!
You are beautiful just the way you are!!! and someday you will have the cutest kids ever and it will be awesome!! Way to go on the bike ride...you are amazing!!
