1st Camping Trip in OUR Tent!!!

Ok, so it's not the first time camping together (we went with my parents in the trailer), but it was the first time camping together on our own and with our tent (a wedding gift we had never opened yet).  It was so fun!  We only stayed for one night but it was still a blast.  We went up on the Rim up near Heber to a place called Chevelon Lake.  It wasn't as foresty as I hoped (it was more desert...) but oh well.  We went with Jon and Nauni and their friends Erin and Matt. Friday night we set up the tent, made a REALLY comfortable bed which included our blow up mattress, 2 sleeping bags and 3 heavy blankets. . . aww it was so comfy- ha August loved it better than our bed at home!  We then made smores and told scary stories of the Skin Walkers and Water Babies.  Sat. morning, Nauni woke us up to breakfast burritos-yum.  Then we had a quick game of Catch Phrase and Poker.  I won the Poker game!  YEY!  Poor August ran out of chips and lost by round three.  Lol, he's not a smart player... Anyways, we packed up and headed down to the lake.  It was a long, steep, rocky hike to get to the lake at the bottom of the mountain.  It was a good hike though, kept us in shape.  Today my calves hurt so bad from the hike!  We tried to find a geo cache at the bottom but never found it... Then we hiked back up to the trucks and pulled off into a nice shady spot in the forest.  We ate our sandwiches and headed home.  It was a fun weekend- all us friends need to get together and have a camping weekend of fun soon!
